Tips on How to Sell Your Current House

  • Disassociate yourself with the house.  Don't look back, look to the future.
  • De-personalize.  You want buyers to picture their family in the house and not yours.
  • De-clutter.  Remove furniture and knick-knacks that are in the way.  Too much clutter can make a big house seem small.
  • Make minor repairs by fixing the leaky faucet and touching up the paint and grout.
  • Make the house sparkle by washing window, cleaning away cobwebs, waxing floors and polishing chrome faucets and mirrors.
  • Check the curb appeal by keeping sidewalks clear, mowing the lawn, trimming the bushes and touching up the paint.
  • Find the value of your home by comparing it to similar homes that have recently sold in the same neighborhood.
  • Look at your house and ask yourself if it's warm and inviting and if you would like to live there.
